All fashion except a few things are linked to the past. It just keeps circling around. The only changes one would see is in the variance. An example would be bell-bottoms with platform shoes in the 70's and platform shoes with bell-bottoms later in the 90's. Exceptions of new fashion would be later technology introduced such as a new material. Example of this would be shoes made of plastic being introduced.
