Most people think they look younger than they are ... are more attractive and smarter. Clearly our society has embedded us with the belief that we are ALL exceptional and precious. Just look at those who have experienced past lives ... EVERYBODY is a King or Queen and NOBODY is a garbage man or a proctologist.

Well, I don't know what sort of majority you're talking about. Theoretically speaking, 1/2 of all people have above-average intelligence, so it is likely that only a few are misleading themselves. The potential of this to cause irritation for those of us who really are above average really depends on how far above average the uninformed think they are.

Do most people feel this way? I tutor kids in high school and they have crappy esteem when it comes to intelligence. They say "I suck at Math" or "I can't write essays". Or they'll say, "that's too hard for me".

Some of us know that we are intelligent because of compliments to our abilities, positive reinforcement. Some people think they are intelligent because they got good scores on their report cards. Some people think an IQ score is an intelligence measure, but I guess it depends on what the definition of intelligent is.

People approach the world from their own personal understanding. Certain things seem obvious and undebatable to people. People find it hard to believe that others can look at the world and come to different conclusions than they themselves have, thereby causing them to label these others as stupid.

For example, two things that I absolutely cannot fathom are religion and homophobia, so I feel that I am more intelligent than anyone who is religious or homophobic.

The main thing that people don't realize is that there is no set of ideas that -everyone- believes. If there were, you could simply point to the illogical people and call them the stupid ones.

I am not particularly good at anything but average at most things. I can do 99% of all things I've tried. Intelligence isn't really important to me, it's knowing my own capabilities and making the most of them. I make the most as enjoying my multiple talents but not yet earning, so a goal to aim for. We are as intelligent as we want to be, it comes down to believing in yourself and following your dreams.
Does it really matter what others think of you, how intelligent you are?
Naaaaaaaa, as long as you are getting what you want from life, that's being intelligent!

That's funny, is that true? I know some people who know they are kind of slow. There are different kinds of intelligence, not every body is book smart, but a "dim jock" has spacial intelligence, musicians understand sound. It would be a cruel reality if it was possible to be entirely stupid. The answer must hope, being born stupid would be a hard reality to accept.

Boy isnt that the truth! I think everyone craves the feeling of knowing what they perceive as the truth as fact and that those that disagree lack intelligence. At least I have the the IQ scores to prove it! lol Im so bad! *Humbles herself* I like to think that I know next to nothing because it gives me the will to learn more :)
