If you are like me you are always looking for programs to speed up your computer, last night I turned off my computer (its been on for months) this morning it kept blocking, I have now opened it and found that between the fan and heat sinc was blocked with dirt which I removed with earsticks, I now have a boot up time of 12 seconds and its running very fast,so before you try or buy programs to speed up your computer try the above, its also easy to do and can save you money buying products that will not help.

Here is a good site with plenty of tips on cleaning computers, including suggestions on when it should be done:

Too many people ignore cleaning a machine which relies on drawing in air from a dusty environment. The result is often overheating and premature death from asphyia!

I do that with a an artist's paint brush.I've also blocked the fan vents with tape where there is no fan to stop the bloody dog hairs getting in.

what you have done needs to be done every 3 < 4 months
also have a vacuum cleaner handy and use a small paint brush 1" to brush gently all dust from your system

Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)
