Almost on a daily basis we hear and see alot to do with the UN and decisions that are reached. But do you really think that it is a gathered decision or is it influenced by the richer members. Do you think that instead of concentrating on non-issues and focusing on lies to creat wars, the high powers should seek to address more pressing issues that effects everyone? All this money being spent on wars, what bout the children in africa starving? If the richer nations really wanted then there would be no poverty. Many of the "Acts for Humanities" I think are a publicity stunt. The green house effect and poverty I believe are the real issues. Sure the US and UK went to war in Iraq to give the people in Iraq a better life, oh aint they nice people (sarcasm), then how come they don't go to africa to help them out? Maybe its because they don't have oil? or maybe because the US can't get any richer by helping resolve poverty in africa? these are only my views i don't expect people to agree.

The UN is NOT a puppet for the US...if anything they hold the US back. There is no argument that the UN is totally inaffectual. But that has nothing to do with the US. As far as the richer nations helping the poorer ones....the US gives more money the poorer nations than anyone else in the world. additionally it has forgiven Multiple BILLIONS in debt from these poorer nations. Why dont the nations with less money step up too? Im not saying the POOR nations should give money. But whats wrong with say India, Korea, or Isrel giving a few bucks to the African nation(who is starving). We get criticised for being the worlds police/parent....but everyone comes to us with their hands out looking for money. You cant have it both ways.

As far as getting out troops out of there....what good would that do? All it would do is allow another radical group come in and take control and attack us again.

The Un is not a puppet of the Americans. We pay the largest percentage, 22% 1.3 billion dollars, of the UN Budget but it is filled with American haters. The Un issued several sanctions against Iraq and all of them were ignored by Saddam and the UN did nothing to stop him from financing suicide Palestinian bombers and their families from nurdering innocent Israelies hell they didn't do anything when he gassed the Kurds. It was Ok as long as the UN member countries could get their oil and circumvent the oil for food program. The US doesn't control the UN if it did Libya and Sudan would not be on the Human Rights Commission and Irans' Presiden t Mahmoud Ahmadine would not be elected to the UN Disarmament Commission. The UN is a disgrace try reading thr book "The UN Exposed". Next time research the issue before shootin you ,mouth off.

I totally agree. The big powers are looking at their own interests. If there is oil to suck out of the country, they are there. Same with weapons; they make them, sell them to countries where they could see conflict, potential instability, use propaganda to ensure conflict does indeed occur, eg multi racial societies, then infiltrate into that area, pretending to care under the flag of UN, and then slowly but surely start to take the wealth out of the country, leaving the naive to fight and kill each other. Oh - and then they sell them some more weapons and make some more profit....etc...... I could go on forever.
