We know we got the rappers talking about being up in the club and shooting and getting their Lexus and other stupid ****. And we got the R&B singers basically putting pornography to music.

Where have the great black music artists gone. There were always groups doing something significant and non-superficial. Now there isn't a single positive CD I would feel okay letting my kid even listen to.

I don't think it's dead but I certainly think alot of it is going into a left-field direction. The originality has pretty much died with the chivalry. Fortunately we have artists like India.Irie and Jill Scott just to name a few who seem to have their own perception of soulful, classical black music. Music nowadays have good beats true enough but I have seen it slowly siphering into a sexual mainstream that for me personally is starting to grow tiring.

Its not dead, just in a lost state of existence. There are still many artist out there that could bring it around , however many are locked into the quick buck and afraid of countering their peers with original music and vocals.

Not dead enough. When that god-awful jungle music actually causes one of the passing lowriders to have a heart attack and die in my yard, then it will be dead enough.
