Yes, "gas pressure gauge". try walmart, Lowe's, Home depot, Sears, even U-haul rentals, they sell propane gas and all kinds of accessories for it , they are a bit pricey. the real good ones have actual numbers (hard to find) the homies might read "replace", and "good" . Now if you have an old scale to weight people, use it underneath the propane tank.
First you will need to "calibrate" the empty tank weight. write it on the tank next to the word empty!
have the propane tank filled up (probably 20lbs), add the the weight of the empty one , and see the weight drop, until you get to the empty weight! (poor man's pressure gas gauge).

They make a gauge for gas cylinders and a strip, neither are extremely accurate. When having a cylinder filled, they set it on a scale to determine when it is full. I always had a gauge on mine and when it showed low I had it refilled.

You don't state the use of the tank, but certainly there are proper gauges that determine the amount of gas left in a tank. Most often they are seen and sold for gas grilles and propane tanks used in residential applications.

On my car when it is full four green lights come on, but as it gets lower the lights go down and when I only have one green light on I know that I need to refill soon. Does that help?
