When Zidane head bulled the Italian Player Mittzzare, this whole fuss, the accusations, the speculations, assumptions were made just because Zidane was a Muslim!

If someone else, other than Zidane had done so, would we even have this conversation?

you have the answer in the game between portugal and holland where figo did the same thing and got nothing but a yellow card and no-one made any fuss about it.

Oh yes, we definitely still would have this conversation no matter if Zidane would be muslim, christian, hindu, or a buddhist or an atheist for that matter. It also would be that muched talked about it it were another player.
The fuzz about it has nothing to do with his religion (the insult matter by Matterazzi is a whole different matter-no one knows for sure what was said-spekulations are floating around in the press-nothing confirmed though!). It is just a big deal because it was his last game before retirement and cuz he is a widely respected and one of the greatest football players ever...that's why.

We are not talking about Zidane head-butting Materazzi, on the issue that he is a muslim. We are talking about Zidane, a god of football on his final match ever, and his actions against the italian player. It has nothing to do with wheter he is a mulim or not. HEY! who said anything about religion? If Maridonna had been playing his fnal match and had head-butted a player basiced on something that he said, we would be talking about it in just the same way. Nobody gives a crap what religion Zidane is, all most people care about is why on earth would Zidane throw away a possilbe final victory for himself and france, in the world cup final, by head butting materazzi.... It wouldn't make difference if he was a jew, christian, Pagan...Etc Religion is not the issue here.

It had been the other way round and the Italian (presumable Catholic) player had hit Zidane it would have not raised as much fuss.

Except it was in the final of the world cup and irrespective of Zidane's religion or lack thereof, HE HIMSELF IS A FOOTBALL GOD.

The fallen god of the religion football is the issue rather than his religion. He was a great and entertaining player but a shown to be a man with flaws.

Even If Zidane is not a Moslem, I still want to argue..,
In the game what Zidane did was a foul and needed to be punished, but he doesn’t disserve a red card.
The resolve should be a yellow card. And if what Materazzi said to Zidan was racist, than he doesn’t have a pace in a sport game.
I just don’t like dirty games like what did Cristian Ronaldo di to Rooney… (he blink his eyes after Rooney was sent off). And just for the record, I’m a MU fan….

To show that at least he did something to defend his beliefs? God knows best...

anyway, this head-butt incident reminds me about Eric Cantona's flying-kick.

No, its not because he is a Muslim. Its because what he did, whether you are a Christian, Hindu or a Muslim, is a foul move, especially since the world is looking up to him as a role model. That makes it all the more controversial and not because of his religion.

It's not because he's muslim....his action was absurd, as a captain in the world cup final he did not keep his cool and commited an unpardonable action!!!

Zidane is off his rocker, good thing he's retiring!!!!
