also include why you would be a good choice for the mission...
and what you would take with you... you are allowed 100lbs of personal property...

the mission is a stright line to the next solar system in our galaxy, with conditions for life, and technology has not advanced farther than today... so it's gonna be a long trip where you great grand kids are the ones who arrive...

Interesting question. Even though I'm a big Star Trak fan, that series makes space seem a whole lot more exciting than it really is. The reality is that it's an unbelievably empty void. To keep people from going nuts on the long journey, they would either need to be put into hibernation, or if conscious would need a holodeck like the Star Trek Next Generation has. Without either of those options I wouldn't go. (I think the holodeck and human hibernation are beyond our current technology but probably not that far off).

However I would like to be the grandkid who arrives at the destination and has to re-populate the species. Monogamous relationships couldn't be allowed at first because genetic diversity is crucial to re-populate from such a small population. So having multiple partners which could be frowned on here, might actually be a requirement, like it is in the Brazilian amazon jungle where small populations of Zoe people practice wife swapping (to increase genetic diversity).

Yes.
But unfortunately hitting 60 I m probably too old for the mission.
It would require individuas -some with a range of unusual skills.
Cryo frozen might be one option for deep space voyages.

properly, from the posed question, i am going to anticipate that we've a deliver it truly is very quick... because you're saying "detect the universe way outdoors this photo voltaic equipment." in reality i'd anticipate that it may well be a one way holiday, getting to visit a fashionable individual or 2. yet besides- sure, i'd bypass. i'd bypass if it were a oneway holiday purely round our personal photo voltaic equipment. Oh, and to someone above. internet doesn't artwork, lol. understand that there is a mild shuttle delay. So, even for destiny Mars missions, internet's no longer going to truly artwork, except you pick to attend as a lot as 40 minutes to load one web page (20 minutes on your requested URL to achieve Earth (assuming it is vacationing through radio signal from Mars), and then yet another 20 minutes for that signal to come back decrease back to Mars). it is, for sure... except we set up a sequence of, oh i don't understand, some kind of tubes for those internets to connect between Earth and area ships. per chance some kind of large-relativistic autos interior those tubes.... ...yesss..... lol. yet sure, i'd bypass.

I would be first in line! I would be a great choice b/c I understand the delicate balance that must be maintained to sustain life. BS!- I'm just confident that my chances with the ladies would be awesome with about 499 chumps on board. What would I take?- 20 lbs of various pornographic materials, 20 lbs in condoms (i'm not ready to be a galactic daddy), 10 lbs of my favorite books (need something in between sexual triumphs), and I'd like to reserve 50 lbs of fat to gain (hey, even with 50 more lbs my chances with the ladies are secure).

Yes, I'd go in a heart beat!!! I wish they'd ask for volunteers. I'd be qualified to go because I'm young, in good shape, and educated. I'd take pictures of family, ipod, chap stick to last a life time, tooth paste/tooth brush, clothes, video games, books, my DVD collection, alcohol, some weed, Flamin' hot cheetos, and tons of other shiit!

Well that would be one HUGE ship, I think I'd actually just be happy to see such a huge spaceship, anyway I don't think my insurance covers for deep space injuries or death, I would have to find one that does before considering to go.

No, I love my family too much to leave them. I can't say there are any people on this earth that I would both a) feel comfortable with them representing me, and b) be willing to let go of in the name of space exploration.

Nope. NASA is a waste of money that could be put towards more useful and pressing matters like curing diseases.
