At the very end of my last pregnancy my doctor prescribed Ambien so I could sleep through the painful contractions I was having at night. That's something for the dr. to decide.

I asked that same question when I was pregnant. Nothing with sleep aids. Nothing with the letters PM on it. And you shouldn't take Ibuprofen either, it supposedly messes with the kidneys.
I'm not sure about anti depressants though. You'd have to ask your doctor.

warm milk (with vanilla in it) at bedtime is safe.
most anti-depressant pills cross the placenta, and they are designed to cross the blood-brain barrier, so they are not considered safe for the fetus.
if you are having trouble sleeping and especially if you are depressed, you should talk to your doctor.

well you really need to ask your doctor...In the first three months of pregnancy it is best NOT to take any type of medicine.
But my doctor gave me plain benadryl to go to sleep on. But i was 33 weeks at the time

I was allowed to take Tylenol PM, but the other answerers are correct. You should talk to your doctor before taking ANY medication.
