I agree. This spoils the spirit of true answering. I feel it is better if the option is given to the asker and share a specified number of points among the other answers. Say 10 for the best answer and another 10 points to be split and awarded to maximum of 10 answers @ 1 point for each questionand a minimum of 5 answers @ 2 points for each question. This may bring some fair play.

Yes and there should be punishments for many other lame answers as well. Answers like "r u retarded?" Uh no, but are you so retarded that you can't type full words! Oh, sorry. I was in a bad answer flashback for a second.

Absolutely. But you can report people if you see it. Don't know if it ever does any good though. Unless they have moderators, won't make a huge difference.
