I don't understand why Zinedine Zidane got best player of the World Cup. However, reports say that he was chosen before half time, before the headbutting incident. However, reports on the news also said that he may have been chosen because it was his last match before he was to retire from professional football. What about the other players who had announced their retirement? Why weren't they chosen? Just because someone says they are going to retire doesn't mean that they should be nominated and chosen as best player. I think there were better players out there than Zidane. Take Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluigi Buffon or even Barthez. They are much more worthy of this award than Zinedine Zidane.

One thing for sure he deserved that golden ball award. No body in this world cup had talent close enough to his.
Other wise I would say that The insulting guy from Italian side should be fined and banned for insulting players in the field during a game.
Foot ball is a beautiful game and those who utters insults are not worth playing this game of skill.
