By entering "Gilligan" at http://www.deadoraliveinfo.com it shows all of the cast and their "status"
note: the last listing is not a cast member but is rumored to be sort of linked to the show by his name, click on his name and read it, I also found the same information posted on other web sites.

I met the Skipper once (Alan Hale). This was 30 years ago, in '76. I went to apply for a job at his restaurant in West Hollywood, and to my great surprise, he was the only person there when I went in! He WASN'T very friendly (much less, funny!) - and he didn't give me the job, either!
Oh well, can't win 'em all. It IS too bad him & Gilligan & most of the other "castaways" are gone now, though. Their show will live on forever, it's a classic!

I do not intend to steal the bright lights from BoosGrammy, she is the only one who accurately answered your question. Three is correct.
I was in the Vietnam War from December 21, 1967- July 20,1969. I had a pen pal that made me realize the beauty of the world, even though I was a LRRP (recon) in the war. I never made any big issue of receiving non-art pictures and several letters from Tina Louise. That lady caused me to see all ethnic groups as beautiful. This led me to helping as many of the Vietnamese children as possible. My part was small, but I am sure there were others who helped the children as well. God works in mysterious ways.
