There are two things:
Simplify:
3 -2(2+x) -5x
3 -4-2x -5x
-1 -7x is the Answer
Solve the Eq:
3 -2(2+x) -5x =0
3 -4 -7x=0
-7x=1
x= -1/7
take any of the answer as required by you.

the correct answer is: -1 - 7x
You're not distributing the -2 correctly and ignoring the fact that the 5x is a negative 5x.
3 - 2 (2 + x) - 5x = 3 - 4 -2x - 5x
= combine like terms 3 - 4 = -1
-2x - 5x = -7x
final answer = -1 - 7x

3-2(2+x)- 5x
first you have to multiple the -2 through the parenthesis and only in the parenthesis
so that would make it
3 - 4 - 2X - 5X
now combine the like terms so the ones with X's and the ones without
-1 - 7X

Here's the simplified expression
=3-2(2+x)-5x
=3-4-2x-5x
= -1-7x
you got it wrong because you instead of adding -2x-5x and putting negative sign you subtracted it.

= -1-7x
you keep on getting +3x , maybe because you add -2x and use +5x
