I've noticed in the last few days that Yahoo! may not be as 'free and open' as most would expect. As far as I know, we still live in a society of free speech, where people may ask perfectly reasonable questions on such topics as the government, royal family, and issues about MP's.
Or do we?
Just one example of the Yahoo! Police: a person asked a question about Princess Diana's death, and it was suspiciously removed by Yahoo! Why? I'm not saying that the question itself was the best I've seen, nor was I all that interested in it, but it seems to have triggered a knee-jerk reaction from Yahoo! that raises more questions than the Diana question did.
Have you had a question deleted that seemed perfectly sane and within reason? Are you sick of being told what you can and can't say or ask? Treated like a child?
I think it's important we keep an eye on such behaviour - it smacks of control to many.

I am not here to defend YAHOO and I am not here to question what you are saying.
But one can delete one's OWN question at any time!
Is there a way of knowing that the question WAS deleted by YAHOO? I don't really like censorship. But I have reported abuse on stupid or obnoxious answers on MANY occasions.
Just because you are paranoid does not mean that Big Brother is out to get you. let's see if Yahoo ITSELF deigns to provide an answer to your perfectly valid question?

I know what you mean, If Yahoo cared to look at my previous questions and answers, they would see that I'm careful what I say so as not to offend anyone. I asked a question asking who hated big brother as much as I do (I mentioned dropping a bomb on the empty house, so no killing involved) It was a popular question, but Yahoo deleted it, saying that it wasn't a question. I clearly asked a question, and made sure that I wasn't hinting on hurting anyone, simply demolishing a building. They're a bit strict, I think.

Yes, I asked what I thought would be a fun question. I asked if people thought they looked like their avatars. I had 23 answers and then it was removed.
Some idiot had reported as 'not a question'......
I appealed saying it was perfectly normal, not harming anyone and a bit of fun. It has not been reinstated.
When I have reported a question, usually because they have a heavy sexual content, they are still showing. What is going on?

Entirely agreed - I have also been surprised by what the Thought Police consider offensive. Sometimes the only way to find out is to post... and wait... and get banned.

It's the age-old question of who monitors the monitors? Who checks the checkers? Who supervises the Supervisors? Nothing is free and open. Don't be fooled. We in ROUK have had to live with this kind of oppression most of our lives.
