I am a professional henna artist. Henna prices very from location to location and depending on what environment you are in (festival- fair- farmers market- private henna session etc) I would expect to pay a minimum of $10 dollars for a smaller design. If you want fancy- or a thick tribal-- call a local and good! henna artist and book an hour. expect to pay anywhere from $60-$100 for one hour depending on the skills and inflation of that area. I know artists in S.F that charge $100 and really good ones in ohio charge $60! Its all variable.
I would go on www.hennatribe.com and go into the forum to henna chat and ask if there are any local artists you can book. I f I knew where you were I could refer you today! There are alot of henna artists out there! good luck and stay away from black henna! Please send me a picture when you get it done! (if you want - send me a email to my website and i will refer you a good henna artist in your area!)

No, I haven't paid for a henna tattoo, but I have paid for two tattoos that totaled 300 dollars. So I guess that is relavant. My room mate paid 15 dollars for a henna tattoo of a Treble clef (music) and I paid 140, for one simular on my foot previously. Her fake tattoo was pretty detailed.
