Hawaii is real big on keeping out non native species of plants, animals and insects. What harm exactly ladybugs could pose to Hawaii's environment I do not know, but I'm sure the powers to be, feel it is better that they not be brought to the islands. As an example, there are no native snakes in Hawaii, great for us who hate snakes, but occasionally a snake will turn up somewhere, most commonly, that brown tree snake from Guam. BTW; what do you call a male ladybug?
