Began in China, with fixed number of players and all.

Somehow the Brits got wind of it and started playing, to the point where there were dozens of people running about lawlessly.

After many deaths (thru stampeding after the ball) someone said something and law and order was brought back to footy and it's become the much much much more lawful game (relatively speaking) today.

At Soccer School in Warwickshire in 1582 a young man called Edson Arantes do Nascimento was playing rugby in his physical education class and suddenly decided to drop the ball from his hands and start kicking it along the ground. This proved difficult due to the shape of the ball but soon humankind invented spheres and it was full steam ahead from that point on.

That boy? He became Pelé.

This answer may be factually incorrect and the sport is called FOOTBALL not soccer.

I think it was in some war involving U.K and someone, and i think one side had what we now know to be a football.Obviously in those days it would have been made of something different, and before they went to war they actually played a game of football!!Which after, they continued with the war against each other.
