ok i installed the newer version of yahoo and it said my internet connection isnt active so i installed the alternate version and it didnt work so then i unistalled it and now i tried to reinstall it and it says the same dang thing and well my computers connected i know it is i have cable internet can someone please help me

Do you have a firewall? Your firewall could be blocking Messenger. You need to go in and configure that software so it lets Messenger connect to the Internet.

Try repairing Yahoo Messenger by clicking Change/Remove in the Add or Remove Programs window in the Control Panel. If that doesn't work, you'll always get a download of the same in Yahoo. If that doesn't work, use the traditional method by restarting your PC.

Your question is not clear. May be it is a temporary problem. Anyway, uninstall the whole thing (yahoo messenger) and download fresh the newer version.

Make sure your firewall is allowing it and if that still doesn't work then download a different version. Good luck:)

Maybe you have a virus on your computer? I know on my PC we got a virus and it really messed up my messenger.
