Has your mum been recently hospitalised? Have you spent nearly two hours being abused and hearing your family, including your mother, being abused? How long do you think you could handle that for before snapping? Some things are more important to a person than football.
For the things that Marco Materazzi said (I am SURE that when they come out they will be sickening) he deserved what he got. Sadly, he didn't deserve a World Cup winner's medal. If Zizou had managed to wait just a little longer he would've had the World Cup and could've then dealt with Materazzi in whatever way he deemed fit and with his goals achieved.

zinedine zidane is short tempered but so are a lot of people, i feel he should ahve been able to control himself but that is not for me to say. in the end the italy bloke got what he wanted and that was zidane off the pitch so italy were the only winners, zidane took the bait.

"With great power comes greater responsibilities..."
Yep i agree...Zidane's really short tempered...
when the hopes of an entire nation is entrusted on your shoulders this is not the way a "super star" should response no matter what ever may be the instigation...
he proved that he is as much fallible as an ordinary person...
this is what separates the great from the average...
Zidane is no way a super star...and i always had the notion that he is really short tempered...

No way.Its that Italian ratbag Materazzi who needs the shrink.Zindane reacted the way any family loving man would, everybody even The SAS has their breaking point.Materazzi was totally out of order by those remarks about Zindanes family, and he knew it.FIFA should be penalising Materazzi for bringing the game into disrepute.Bet he gets away with it.

He stuck for himself and his family. Personally if I was in his shoes, I would have waited till after the match and kicked crap out of the Italian guy.
Still, No regrets! Whats done is done.

No, but if anyone called a member of their own family I'm sure most people would react worse than he did.
