I have very few friends but people seem to like me OK. There is no need for me to have lots of friends.I have a good sense of humor. I do not like my personal space violated included my belongings and have asked my significant other many times to build me a small guest house or granny flat so I can just be alone at times all by myself. It feels like the worst thing you can do to me is mess with my stuff. My personality has been like this since I can remember. Is there something wrong with me. I like my significant other but many times I prefer to be alone.

I think you are basically an introvert. But, I don't see any disorder. If you have friends( though only few, as you mention) and they like you, then it should not worry you. Numbers do not matter. If you are able to relate to your friends, it is just fine.

Note: You want to be alone only "at times". That is perfectly normal. We all need space and want to be alone "at times." I don't see anything wrong in your personality.

You must however, if possible , learn to share your thoughts. The question put by you , is a step in the right direction.

why don't you just move to a secluded island.y do u have a significant other anyway if u r like that.u seem to me that u want someone there just in case u flip out or for protection maybe.let people into your life and u can always have them replace whatever they break of your personal things.if it is a memento then either put a barrier around it or put it storage somewhere.stop being materialistic and enjoy life and your significant other.otherwise you will end up all alone later.

wanting your own space is a good thing, breathing room, i really feel the same except i am not possesive of "material things".
i DO get irritated, and angry when anyone goes through my personal belongings casually as though they have a right too,
IT IS NOT THAT I HAVE A BIG DARK SECRET THAT WILL BE UNCOVERED, OR A MAP TO A BURRIED TREASURE, I JUST LIKE TO HAVE SOME THINGS PRIVATE, AND NOT AVAILABLE FOR ANYONE,,,UNLESS I SAY SO,
I THINK EVEN A SIGNIFIGANT OTHER THAT "ASSUMES" THAT WHAT I OWN OR HAVE EVEN JUNK, IS PART OF ME AND THEY FIGURE, THEY HAVE NOT VIOLATED ME, OR THEY HAVE A "RIGHT" TO GO THERE,,ETC BUT THEY DON'T

HAVING A LITTLE GUEST HOUSE, IS A GREAT IDEA, IF IT IS AFFORDABLE, BUT I DON'T THINK I NEED THAT MUCH SPACE AS YOU,,BUT I DO NEED TIME ALONE, TO THINK, BREATH, NOT FEEL SMOTHERED, AND BE ALONE WITH MYSELF AND CONTINUE DISCOVERING MY OWN INNER SELF, WITHOUT GUILTY OR REPROCUSSIONS, SOLITUDE, IS HEALTHY FOR ME, YET ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, I ALMOST NEED TO MAKE RESERVATIONS JUST TO HAVE THE TIIME TO COUNT MY FINGERS AND TOES,,, I ALSO PREFER TO BE ALONE SOMETIMES, AND I DO BELIEVE THAT WANTING AND PREFERING TO BE ALONE MEANS THAT SOME GREAT VIRTUE INSIDE (YOU) AND OTHERS LIKE US IS WAITING TO BE DISCOVERED,

SO, I DO UNDERSTAND,, AND 'THERE IT IS"

No. You are just fine. You just need your space sometimes... maybe chill out on the stuff thing a little bit... after all it's just stuff... but wanting your space... everybody needs their space from time to time.

nothing wrong with you. some people like their own space, others don't like being alone. same as with your personal items. some don't care who touches what others do. everyone's different. you haven't shut off from society and you still interact with others so don't stress it.

I'm similar to you. I like people around but at a distance. Basically when I want them around but at my convenience.
