The car is fuel efficient for its size and power. If you are comparing it with Zen and Alto, no it doesn't give the same mileage. But then it is Swift with a better BHP and a better 1300 CC isn't it?
I know a guy in Hyderabad whose swift gives 14 kmpl in city. Mine gives around 12 kmpl in the same city.
You can have your car tuned to give a bit better mileage while sacrificing power.

Various tests have shown that in city driving conditiond with the a/c occassionaly on it gives an average of about 10-12 kpl and on highway it gives upto 15 kpl. I hope thats enough fuel efficient for you.
