Well, definitely eat, arrange, according to your our body and feelings what is good for you and avoid what is not! Necessary and helpful is to recognize that for YOU the most important person on Earth is YOU! Thus treat yourself as such! Feed yourself with only what YOU deserve and YOU deserve the best!
I lost 10 kilos, by having what I like, fruits and vegetables and quit wheat products (bread, spaghetti, etc.), I take not sugar at all, minimum salt, no potatoes! Whatever you do, you should enjoy not only the result but also the way to it! Enjoy every moment!

I use a smaller plate, and don't pile it full of food. It works. After a while your stomach get smaller and it doesn't take as much food to curb your hunger. It may take a little longer than some diets, but its safe and it works (for me anyway).
