it depends on whether or not the hamburger is on a bun and has lettuce and all the other stuff. if it does, then it will be heavier. if it does not, then it will be lighter because it will lose some of its weight due to cooking

the leaves will be heavier after the hamburger is cooked. 1/4 pound refers to the pre-cooked weight. the final weight of the hamburger depends on the meat used. the higher percentage of fat, the more weight a hamburger will lose in cooking it.
