From what I've heard and read from numerous sources: all pros, possibly one con. Since your body has no way of storing protein you need a constant supply, if you break down your muscles, for optimum recovery. Every time you perform a streneous exercize, you develop microscopic tears in your muslces; those and lactic acid buildup, causes you to feel "sore." Weight training constantly, participating in cardiovascular activities daily, and a good protein intake (1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, if you want to add lean muscle tissue) add up to burning excess fat and building lean muscle tissue. The only con I could think of is when excess, free-floating protein gets converted into nitrogen and you have it floating around in your blood. Excess nitrogen has been known to cause the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood to decrease as well as decrease the functioning of the thyroid gland.
