In the minds of the vast majority of people, there is nothing but a profound darkness.
I don't mean that figurativly, i mean literally. I think in 3d visual pictures. I suspect you do too
Perhaps you have photographic memory that you haven't developed yet.
perceiving this about yourself, realize that those who cannot think or analyze the world around them are doomed to be slaves to every banal impulse that comes to them.
you however, have a choice, you can follow your urges, or you can use your mind to acheive enlightenment. it is worth while.
BUT WHATEVER YOU DO - DON'T THROW YOUR PEARLS BEFORE SWINE. They don't have the capacity to appreciate you, and will probably only attack you if you let them. don't let them.
There are plenty of thinking people in the world. Be open to the idea of learning new langauges, and traveling
Oh yeah, try drawing or painting if you dont already

I understand you completely. I over analyze everything also. My mother tells me that I feel the need to save everyone I meet. I can't remember a time that I haven't done that. My major is psychology. Perfect for me. I get all the stimulation I want and need. I've noticed that sense returning to college I sleep better at night too. When I do sleep anyway. Don't worry, your not alone. Find a hobby that really challenges you, that may help. I also read and write on an almost constant basis. That helps me a lot. Good luck, I hope you can find some one or some thing that will help you....

Yes, first step is not typing in all caps. And yes, I know how you feel - your mind is restless no matter where it goes, to the point that maybe even if you found some outlet, you'd be greedy for more. So along with finding outlets by reading challenging work or hooking up with challenging people on the net like here, you definitely need to relax your brain through meditation or yoga, etc. - and maybe get some other help that will cause you not to push so hard and help you accept the world for the great and frustrating mess it is.

I know exactly what you mean, I face the same thing just about every day of my life I think about things way too much, I think of what I said to people in the day, what they said to me, i'm not even sure why I do this but sometimes I wish I didn't since to me it seems pretty meaningless but I just can't help it. I think alot more than most people but in a way I think it's good because if I have a problem I think of all possible solutions and that does make things better alot of times. Im very misunderstood by other people just because I dont think the way they do but whatever I dont really feel the need to conform but im not a social outcast either, I have a hard time sleeping too that's why im up right now at 4 in the morning. It really would be nice to find people who feel the same way I do but it's not easy and people tend to want to always be talking, not necessarily thinking and saying anything meaningful. Not that anything is wrong with that I just find it to be a little annoying at times, well anyways im starting to ramble now just know that you're not alone : )

I know how you feel, i frequently don't sleep much because it takes a long time for the 'gears' of my mind to wind down. I personally enjoy making hidden connections and understanding underlying meanings, but have difficulty when doing so based on emotions. It is wonderful when you hang out with intellectual people open to new areas of discussion that challenge me, and that is a rarity that makes me lonely as well. It is very hard for me to find people of my mental nature, and I tend to come off as 'stuck up' even though I do not mean it to be that way, my confidence in what I am saying affects my presented attitude and it turns people away from me.
You are not alone. It would be great if there were a way to communicate with others that are like me, but the Internet appears to not be the place to do it because of immature spammers.
So in answer to your question, yes, I know how you feel.

I know exactly how you feel, and I only wished more people would question everything instead of accepting things just because someone else did.
For me everything ever written or said is still a question, a problem that needs resolving as nothing has changed in the world since time began, except now we have media to dumb us down.
When I can't sleep I get up and write all my thoughts down. It's all in my blog. I try to be like the rest and watch the 'pop' movies and listen to the 'pop' songs, as they are POPular and I feel sometimes I just want to be like a sheep in a herd, but this just frustrates my mind even more and gives me more to write about.
Don't try changing, you'll soon come to a point where you will need to do a lot more research to answer all the questions your mind has posed, and through this trial you'll find your passion in life.
Send me a message if you'd like to debate.

I feel you. Sometimes I have to tell myself to shut up before I can go to sleep. I analyze things so much. I analyzed your question. I analyze my life, life in general, and even my responses. I don't want anyone on answers to think I am dumb, so when I post my answer, it is only after reading it, checking the spelling, and then rereading it. My friends are similar to me in other ways, but not in my thinking. They look at things carefully, but when they are done they don't think about it again. I think about everything more than once. I can't help it. And what makes it worse is that I am the type of person who can't forget things that happen in my life. I have a memory that doesn't forget events or significant things that has happened to me. I understand perfectly how you feel. But, unfortunately, I don't know what the cause is.

Highly intelligent people often over analyze and due to their higher processing abilities often have difficulty relating to those that operate on an average level. People have their individual strengths, cherish them an forgive them there faults and hope that they do the same for you; come around go around is often the case here. As for not being able to sleep try exercise or different exercise that force blood to focus on recovery (resistance training) to get all that blood and over thinking out of your brain. By the way check out your local chapter of Mensa, they can be a bit flaky but generally good people.
Good luck.
