In today's prisons it's not that bad of a place as compared to the slums...
In the prison they get everything handed to them
3 meals
a bed
medical care
dental care
Eye glasses
prescription meds
College education (totally free)
Job training
clothing
Exercise and fitness room
Cable TV / stereo
Movies and shows on stage
Team sports like softball
Library
some even have a farm for gardening and animals.
The Slum has
drug addicts
whores
Total dumps for a home, with busted windows and boards across them.
High crime
Shoot outs between dealers and gangs
Eating a bag of chips they stole at the store
No medical what so ever...
Hmmmm Let's see why would the prisons be crowded???
That is a really tough question, I don't think we will ever know?

BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE STRICT LAWS,
WE DON'T PUNISH, AND REFORM,
WE "HOUSE" THE CRIMINALS, AND COMPARED TO OTHER COUNTRIES,
WE OFFER THE SANCTUARY, FOR SOCIAL MISFITS, OR INCORRIGABLE
SOCIETY..
THEY GO IN, THATS A VACATION FOR SOME SEE OLD PALS TALK ABOUT THE GOOD OLD BOYS,
THEY COME OUT, READY AND ABLE TO REPEAT THE SAME CRIME, BUT
HOPEFULLY , SMARTER, AND BETTER,
THEY NEVER SEEM TO GET SMARTER, SO THE CYCLE KEEPS GOING, AND THAT IS WHY OUR PRISONS ARE BURSTING AT THE SEAMS,
IT IS LIKE MOVING AROUND, NOT PAYING RENT, GETTING EVICTED, AND GOING BACK AND FORTH BUT NEVER TO REDEMPTION, AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE,
PUNISHMENT? SUFFERING AND ACCOUNTABILITY, DOES NOT EXIST, AND IN PRISON OR JAIL, IT IS A POPULARITY CONTEST, MONEY AND POWER ARE THE LANGUAGE, AND THE OFFICERS WHO WHOULD KEEP OUR CRIMINALS IN LINE, JUST SURVIVE THE INSANITY,,
THAT IS WHY,,,FREE RENT, FOOD EXERCISE, SEX, AND SEEING ALL THE HOME BOYS AND REUNITE,, SOMETIMES PRISON IS A STEP UP..
AND THE CRIMES ARE THE TICKET,,
PS THEY FIND GOD THERE, AND WHEN THEY LEAVE,THEY LEAVE GOD THERE

Because the US government want to pretend like they are winning the war on drugs, when it is actually losing in every way. Want a better prison system, legalize drugs, tax the he!! out of them and save the prisons for the real sickos like child molestors, murderers, rapists, ect.... And being crazy should not keep you out of prison, being crazy don't stop you from getting murdered!!!!!

doing time has become a right of passage for many cultures.
we could end the problem of mass Exodus over the boarder if inmates were made to take the jobs other Americans didnt want. let thempay their own way through the system. somehow i think thee may be a decline in the club.

1. "3 strikes" laws.
2. The "War on Drugs"
Both astoundingly dumb ideas.
