Around 1970, you could buy a Brownstone in Harlem for about ten thousand dollars.

Today, it could be well over a million dollars.

Depending on what part of Manhattan you want to own, you could be talking several thousand dollars a sq. ft. or maybe just several hundred dollars a sq. ft.

Most anywhere now in New York footage is high, could be the highest anywhere.

There are many small apartments converted into co-ops or condos that today go for a million of dollars each.

Is this ridiculous? Is this living anymore?

I'd like to know if salaries in Manhattan are comparable to the real estate expenses.

Do many working people in New York pull in hundreds of thousands each year to compensate their living expenses.

Betcha the answer is NOOOOO!
