phoenix_svce, your parents will get mad no matter what. It will take them time to heal but they will! They love you unconditionally so they will get over it eventually. If they are making it hard for you to get married then don't invite them. Being part of your wedding is a privilege, even to parents. Last resort, have a small (only friends) wedding, sort of like a dinner party =o) I've been to a few like that, and actually have more fun at those weddings because the bride and groom are so relaxed!

THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAN MAKE THAT DESICION IS YOU.... THIS IS MY OPINION YOU ARE AN ADULT AND ADULTS MAKE DECISIONS ON THIER OWN... IF YOUR PARENTS DO NOT LIKE TOUGH THEY DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN YOUR HOME THEY DO NOT HAVE TO COME A VISIT... SPEND THAT EXTRA TIME WITH YOUR WIFE... THAT'S RIGHT IF YOU LOVE THAT WOMAN MARRY HER... YOU CAN NOT SPEND YOUR LIFE TRYING TO MAKE OTHERS HAPPY AT THE COST OF YOUR OWN HAPPINESS.... THE ONLY OUTCOME THERE IS YOU WILL GROW OLD AND BITTER BECAUSE YOU ALLOWED OTHERS TO CONTROL YOUR LIFE INSTEAD OF LIVING IT HOW YOU SEE FIT... I RECOMMEND THAT IF SHE IS NOT A DRUG ADDICT, ALCOHOLIC, OR PROSTITUE.... DO WHAT YOU FEEL IN YOUR HEART... YOUR FAMILY MAY NOT SEE WHAT YOU SEE RIGHT NOW BUT EVENTUALLY THEY WILL COME AROUND... PRAY ABOUT IT.... GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS....

Your parents have probably seen more and done more than you have. They might know something you don't know. I grew up in a family where my aunts, uncles, and grandparents were out of contact with me and my siblings. That was very difficult growing up with just your parents and brothers. Thirty years later, they still won't talk to us. Don't be selfish, be open minded. Talk with your parents and RESPOND to their concerns not react.

It's your life. Don't let people decide your future.
If you're in the right age and you love each other, fight for the love and prove to your parents that marrying is really worth it.

I am the one who has to be with the one I marry, not my parents. If my parents raised me to have good judgement they should trust who I pick out.
