England seeded for Euro 2008 draw
England are among the top tier of seven seeds for Euro 2008 qualifying. They have been put in a group including defending champions and top seed Greece as well as Netherlands, Portugal, Czech Republic, France and Sweden. ----Italy and Germany are in the second group along with Croatia, Turkey, Poland, Spain and Romania.
Scotland have been placed in the fourth tier of teams, Wales in the fifth and Northern Ireland in the sixth for the draw on the 27 January 2007.
The seedings for each country have been based on qualifying for Euro 2004 and next summer's World Cup in Germany.
If Greece were not the holders they would only just have made it into the second tier with Germany making the top seven. -
Hosts Switzerland and Austria qualify automatically for the 16-team tournament. --The remaining 50 teams will be split into six groups of seven and one of eight with the winners and runners-up qualifying for the tournament.

Must say i am finding it very hard to get excited about any football. The past two years has shown that the game has gone to the dogs. Too many teams frightened of losing as the financial stakes are sky high. Football is in my blood but Football is dead long live football.

Oh dear god; don't you ever get enough of that daft game??
A bunch of over paid numpties getting paid to kick a ball around a field; its rediculous.
If they LOVE THE GAME so much, why do they need to be paid millions to do it?
The thing i cant stand is the whole sheep effect; how whole crowds get sucked into not only believing that one team is better than the other; but are willing to fight to the death (literally in some cases) to prove a point.
Saying things like: They are my team, they play for me.
No they are not, they dont know you; never heard of you; couldnt care less if you lived or died - just as long as you buy their new strip to cover part of their wages.
With all the sports channels on and viewing 24/7; why oh god why do us normal "non-sheep" have to endure the disruption of normal television broadcasting, just because some numpties want to kick their wee bal about.
World Cup 06 = Lot of nonsense!
Euro 08 = Lot of nonsense!
Football in general = Visual stimulation for the brain dead, knuckle dragging chimps of our society.

i imagine portugal ought to win it yet in the experience that they arrive in first position of their team and germany in 2d or opposite direction round, i imagine we ought to loose to germany like in the international cup so i imagine portugal will bypass team level to face germany and loose. If that takes position then i desire spain to win considering they're excellent next to portugal and a magnificent u . s . a . and great footballers
