C... Would you care if I went ALSO. Try substituting the word "also" in each of the sentences and you'll see that the others just don't sound right.

A)= the dessert was over rich (a lot of richness).
B) = the pile of homework was enormous (a lot of homework)
C) = would you object if I came with you (can I come also).
D) = the 'news' was seriously bad for the mother (a lot of 'badness').
