Shall we give them a 2nd chance?
If not death sentence, how shall they be punished? Will they just get away with their sins? But even if punished, nothing can be changed.. The victims are still in pain

I am probably in the minority here but I believe that the death sentencefor rapists is a must.

I'm a guy but from I can gather (I knew a person who was a victim), rape is the worst crime there is. But I mean a real rape, not a "date" rape conjured up by a hurt female. I mean the violent, random type.

It changes thier lives forever and there is very little that can be done to recapture the innocent times before it happened.

Second chance? No way. Deter them by making the penalty as costly as possible.

Punishment protect possible future victims and teaches others that the crime will not be tolerated! That's the best protection you can have.

It's rather difficult, to decide about! Is the society, who kills murderers better like them? And is an other punishment to weak for murderer and rapers? I believe, the death penalty is to weak! A raper/murderer must be emasculated and have hard to work until his dead, because often their victims suffers for the rest of their live too. A victim is also a related or loving person of a murdered kid, man, woman!

Death is such a finality. If a person rapes or murders another individual, they should have a fair trial and if found guilty they should be tortured, slowly and painfully. Does this make us any better than animals? Yes, because that is what we are basically. After the torture if the person commits another crime then there is no 2nd chance, an immediate death sentence is to be issued and carried out within 1 week.

I used too, then I was called to serve on jury. The entire process is silly, stupid and wrong. It is rigged from start to finish. Until you go through it, you can not believe how dishonest it is. You the Jury are to keep your mouth shut and do what your told. Just because some one is "guilty" doesn't mean they did it. It means they couldn't afford a good lawyer. You want proof? - I'll give you proof:

When DNA tests came out, the State of Illinois tested prisoners - DNA proved 110 of them were Innocent! Yet they had been found guilty and had collectively served over 1000 years in Prison. The Governor Stopped all executions immediately because it revealed: Out of 25 people on Illinois' death row, 12 were executed and 13 exonerated by DNA testing. More than half of the people on death row were innocent. That means those of you who are so hot for the death penalty are murderers yourself - you send more than half of people who are completely innocent to be executed.

I can not see the advantage in today's system.
In the United States it costs the tax payers far more to put a person to death because of the many appeals and court trials that the condemned person has.

Plus the irony on it too is that if the prisoner becomes ill they have to do everything to save his life and then put him to death!?!?!?

It is far cheaper to give a true life sentence.

In my mind it would also be better to make that person be a cell mate to a 6' 8' , 260 pound hillbilly prisoner named Bubba.
And for the rest of his life he could be made to squeal like a pig!!!

With NO lube !!!

Now that is justice !!!

Squueeee squuuueeeeeeee !!!

Catch 22 question really, the murder/rapist didn't give the victim a 2nd chance. But if you sentence them death doesn't that make you do the exact same thing to them! Then you've got do unto others etc...

Sorry, too pat of a question. Really depends on the crime and the cituation.

Frankly the science/medical community has found that the part of the brain that deals woth judgement and understanding the consequences of ones actions dosn't fully develop untill around 18 - 21 years of age.

As such I have serious issues with charging children as adults in crimes.

I am a firm beliver in the death penalty but it still depends on the case.

I am sick and tired of paying my taxes, money that I have earned
for bastards to kick it and watch tv and lift weights and not have
to worry about ****. Why should human slime be given another
chance to go out and rape and murder again ?? That is exactly
what happens. Most don't get life. They are out in 7 yrs. For good
behavior !! Who ever thought of that ****. The death penalty
is a strong deterent, but it's become a freakin joke, because it
is not enforced quick enough. Fry em...on to the next guy....If
it is a very strong case or DNA stuff. Take Scott Peterson for
example, he was arrested on circumstansual evidence. But
all his behavior pointed to him like a flaming arrow. That is a
case where everyone knows he did it, but where was the DNA
and other science? A case like that is a serious judgement call.
Most criminals deny their crimes. Why should we believe them?
Especially if the evidence is full proof. Predetors make society
unsafe. If we all want to be safe, and have our children safe,
then we need to get rid of them, or make sure they NEVER get
out. Predetors don't change. Come on people....wake up.
( or go to sleep, cause it's laaaate). zzzzzzz

I think rapists should never be allowed out of prison and serve hard labour for the whole time with no privledges. Their victims have to serve a life sentence. I think murder should result in capital punishment. Harsher penalties(especially here in Australia) need to be introduced now!

If it is a premeditated murder, not in self defense, then yes(Don't tell my priest) Rape depends on the circumstances and needs to be looked at on an individual basis. But lets add some shall we???? Child molesters, it is proven, can not be rehabilitated, I think they should get the death penalty, and any judge that lets them out should have to put them in a house in their own back yard. And if a judge lets a child molester go and they molest again both the judge and the defense attorney should be put to death for sheer stupidity!!!!!!
