Chinchilla fur is considered the softest in the world and is thirty times softer than human hair. Chinchillas must regularly bathe in dust or volcanic ash to remove oil and moisture that gathers in their thick fur. In fact, they have the highest fur density of any land animal with more than 20,000 hairs per square cm. Their fur is so dense that skin parasites (such as fleas) cannot live on one lest they suffocate. Where humans grow one hair from each follicle, a chinchilla has more than fifty hairs from a single follicle

Chinchilla fur is by far the softest and the thickest. I've had all 3 animals before, and absoluted loved my Chinchilla's fur

Chinchilla fur is usually the softest. However if you have an Angola rabbit their fur is by far better. Why do you ask?

Did you know Chinchillas actually bathe in DUST? They cant be bathed in water, or they could suffer severe side effects, including losing their hair. They act like little TAZ devils, just spinning and rolling around in the dust. Its really cool to watch.

Actually I would have to say that the Rex Rabbit and the Chinchilla feel alike, they are both so super soft that you can't really tell the difference.
