There's no way to open a lock with a pin as what you see in the movie unless it is the very ancient type which no longer available in the market.

Different locks comes with different mechanism and methods. Basic level lock you need the primary tool which is "T....". You need lots of practise with it on different locks. You can't jump into any lock without spending some time studying individual mechanism function. Beside the "T..." tool, there another tool to go with it whereby I wouldn't release to it.

Why do you need to know such thing?? If your door got lock up you should engage a locksmith for assistance.

Hire a locksmith. The pin and credit card stuff is all Hollywood BS.
PS. Don't hire a locksmith if it's not your lock- a good locksmith will screen you, anyway, to make sure you're not a burglar.(Proof of residency, etc)
