11 is too young as you body changes and the percing could reject. As the skin grows and seperates and it can get infected or drop out.
I had my belly button pierced when i was 13 i am now 24. I had a bit of a growing spurt at 15 and my belly piercing got a little hole in the skin where i could see the bar through it. Eventually the hole got bigger and infected the hospital removed it and said if i had left it the infection would have got worse and the whole bar would have pushed itself out of my belly button!
I have since had it re pierced as the scaring looked so ugly but it does not sit the same and sometimes stings.
Out of all my piercing it is the one i hate the most as it catches on all my clothes and once you catch it odd it kills. Having the piercing did not hurt me but after it bothered me and the cleaning is a pain and the balls often come off and the bar fall out and then you have a pain of trying to get it back in without hurting yorself again.
I have a lot of piercings 4 in each ear my nose my chin my tongue my nipple (I had done at 16 and that rejected the 1st time as i was still growing) and my belly button.
I would say stick with ears until you are about 18 as even now with piercing on my face people are funny on giving me a job. All the piercings i have had done after i was 18 have been infection free.

Mine took 2 years to heal properly. They might not hurt at first because it is numbed, but it will hurt for a hll of a long time afterwards. Belly button is the most risky piercing on the body due to it apparently containing remnants of umbilical cord of something- friends mum is a doctor! Needs to be looked after everyday and it may stop you doing things over the summer like swimming in lakes. I worked at a holiday camp and we had a 13 yr old who had it done the day before she came, we didnt let her do any of the water sports, she just had to watch- summer could be boring!

If you want ur belly button peirced, u should probobly wait till your older. My mum has it and she said it was really sore and now that she doesnt have it in (it healed up, because it was too sore for her to wear all the time) shes got a big scar. It might look kl, but it could leave a scar. Also, you cant wear high jeans or skirts beacause it rubs.

11 is far to young I had mine done 5 years ago when I was 15, and it hurt so much afterwards that i wished i hadnt done it. Its alot of bother becuase for the first 6 weeks you have to wash it with salty water or anti septic wipes and it hurts so much if you catch it on something. I would advise that you wait a couple of years, and then re-think it then. Good luck!

it is painful but what piercing isnt? i would say wait till ur older as u still have alot of growing to do and the piercing will just grow out. i had mine done when i was 14 and im 19 now its only grown out a little still looks fine, so i recommend you wait a couple of years cos if u get it done now it;ll grow out within that time and ur be left with scar tissue they may not be able 2 re-pierce.

i had mine done when i was about 14 mine healed really well and it didnt really hurt it only hurts when you catch it on something. but if i had a chance to get it done again i wouldnt get it done because when the novelty wears off you never wear a bar and u are left with this hole and it looks crap.
they get your belly button and take some of the membrane out of it.
oh well, its up to you really hope you make the right decision. x

NO NO No NO NO NO.
It is a rediculas fashion we have adopted from I think the Indian subcontinent.
It is their fashion or they have a historical reason for doing it, not a western tradition, and I know more men that hate it than think it looks nice or sexy.
SORRY.
P.S Oh yes, I forgot to say, it is supposed to hurt like hell.

Wait until you are older. They have a tendency to get infected with horrible gunge. I would avoid it for now. You are really young, go out and enjoy yourself. Yes it does hurt whatever they say.

11 is too young. They clamp it, so it stops the blood flow. It didn't hurt while they did it, but it sure hurt when it was healing.
