Former Friend I have written about before. She is in the media and since meeting her has hurt me so deeply I can barely show my face in the community. She lied, manipulated, backstabbed, two faced, and trashed my reputation and used me on EVERY level imaginable. I recently found the courage to break it off entirely and tell her exactly what I thought of her and her lieing backstabbing ways. However, I am wondering if it would even be worth staying in this city I have lived in for 13 years. With all her connections and the many people who have heard her lies about me, includeing the media coverage she did, I can barely show my face.. I have no money to sue her for her slanderous lies.. Should I just move away? or should I stay and keep being strong and say "Screw her, no one is going to run me out of town" What do you think?

Life is full of people like your "friend". Don't be strong it is stupid, don't leave it is running. Learn to spin. Need a good example see Michael Jackson. Part of the things that she did to you were simply exposures of some things that were true about you. Embrace the things that were true and cut out the lies and then go out in the world with this knowledge. When someone asks about it then you won't need to respond defensively and you can put your own positive spin on it. Your honesty will win people to your side and eventually you will be able to recover your reputation. Then as preventative medicine learn to never tell something to someone behind someone else's back unless you say it to their face. Also never manipulate lest you be back where you are now. BTW if you leave this situation without learning how to deal with it you will only end up in this situation all over again. People ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. Good luck

Either this a a small town or you're claiming to be someone the general public knows and news worthy enough to get in the media. Since you have no money, just what is at stake?

It's really impossible to answer that without knowing why you'd be jeopardized by anything she did. If it's just small town gossipy concerns, stay where you are. These things pass and sometimes even backfires on the perpetrator.

Deciding whether to stay or leave in a situation such as this can be tough. Will your quality of life be affected if you stay? Will you be happy if you stay? Or will moving away and getting a fresh start make you feel better. Its all really up to how you feel about the whole thing. Good luck and remember, you are the one that matters. Do what's best for you.

It would be madness that you would have to move away from your city. Maybe that is exactly what your former friend wanted for whatever reason.

I guess ,setting your pride aside, it could be an attractive option if you really wanted/needed a fresh start.

eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. Get some great revenge and then get the hell out of town before the police show up.
