'SAY NO TO RACISM' is the tagline for FIFA and it is shown and printed on the banner all over Germany. I am watching the final game live in the stadium and are stunned by all those tricks and cheats that the Italians are showing. They should have be in Hollywood and not in Germany. They show a dramatic movie over here. I am definitely not going for France nor Italy. I am all going for Germany but that match really is not what we normally see in a game. Even Brazil or Spain or Portugal are playing more 'Gentlemans' style than the Italians. Zidane is wrong by doing the headbutting but who would not to that to Materazzi? If someone would have provoked you on your family or racial status, I don't really think that anyone can hold back their anger.Since that Racism Issue is highly recommend in FIFA,they should think of stripping the titles from the Italians because Italians have broke the rules of FIFA first.Put Zidane case aside first,& concentrate on the price that the Italians should pay

i don't think italy deserved that trophy. france played the better game and could have won easily if t hadn't been for the roughing up of their star players, physical and verbal. make no mistake about that, zidane, henry and thuram were marked men even before the kick-off. having said that, still i don't think there should be a stripping away of the title. it just isn't done and even zidane wouldn't wish that. the best thing now is to investigate the incident with materrazi and ban him from the game if the charges are proven. fifa should then focus on the future and ensure that it's fair play rules are well-enforced and the evil that is racism stamped out in and out of the pitch. the german people busted their a** to make sure we all come together in friendship, mutual respect and harmony, in true celebration of this beautiful game but now it has all come to this. tsk, tsk, what a mournful shame.....

If the Italians had won by cheats and dishonourable play with elements of racial provocation, is that still called sports? Are the Italians proud to have won in such manner? They are the winners but my respect goes to the French team . The Italians are the champions , no doubt, but they will go down in history and be remembered for a win , won not because they are the better team , but won on racial provocation and tactics.
It is the small man who has to use dirty tricks and tactics to win.
What an irony, Fifa says NO TO RACISM but yet the very essence of the champions....

Take a chill pill "superb_germans". Italy won fair and square. Doesn't matter what Materazzi said, a man of Zizou's status shouldn't have taken the issue to the abyss. It was absolute stupidity and a tragic end of epic proportions. Zizou could have walked away and assisted France to a possible victory.....and then addressed the issue after the match, like a worldclass sportsman.
Instead he reinforced all the worst traits of his ethnic background to a global audience of 1 Billion people. Bravo!

YOU people it's not the first time that Zidane does this thing(headbuting a player),it's not fair to find him excuses!!!
We don't know what Materazzi told to Zidane, these are just speculations.Materazzi talked to the media, denied that he called him a terrorist, but Zidane didn't talk to the press...So who's to blame?Zidane can't face the media because he can't explain what he did.!!!

I think that they will banned Materrazi for the future match but not rematch. Although I don't like Italy to wins that cup, but what is done, is done. The cup is given, there are no way for them to surrender back the cup. May the Italians lift the cup high but with their heads held down.

If it is proven that he broke the racism rules of FIFA, then I am sure there will some penalty for this. But even with that, I would really doubt they will lift the title. That would be over-kill here, and would throw this tournament into chaos forever...

First of all, this is not a contest on 'political corectness', it is a soccer match. Secondly, the day they strip anyone's rightfully-deserved title because of what a player said to another is the day I stop watching soccer. How dare you even SUGGEST such nonsense? Italy won the World Cup, LIVE WITH IT YOU SORE LOSER.

you are so full of yourself..your whole thing is based on specualtion and hearsay...there is NOTHING that leads anyone TO BELIEVE that what was said was racist or bigoted in anyway..

it will only be official once Zidaine or Materazzi steps up and makes an official statement.

trash talking is what it is regardless of the sport..IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY...EVER...

THERE IS NEVER EVER EVER EVER A CASE WHERE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IS WARRANTED ON THE PITCH, FIELD, COURT OR DIAMOND WHERE THAT IS TOLERATED..

YOU THINK THAT THIS IS ALL A BIG DEAL...ASK AN NFL FOOTBALL PLAYER HOW BADLY HE HAS BEEN INSULTED...IT IS PROBABLY MUCH MUCH WORSE...

BUT FUNNY..THEY DON'T SHOW THAT CRAP ON THE FIELD

Re-match is impossible to think-

just the players will be fined for their act.
