Plant a tree, then they can visit it any time they want to talk to Daddy!

Oooo..This is tough. It kind of depends on the age of your kids. Did your husband have a favorite thing to do as a family. Try taking the kids on an outing. Outside is a great place to mourn if need be because you feel less boxed in. Nature is also quite calming. Good luck. Have fun and I am so so sorry for your loss.

Take your kids to see his grave/plot. They can all make him cards, write a letter etc and spend some time reminissing. Then later in the day maybe go to a restaurant your husband liked to eat at, or cook his favorite meal and have that as a rememberance birthday for the kids. Light a candle and place it in the middle of the table to symbolise their father/your husband.

I'm sorry for you loss and I hope your husbands birthday goes well for you and the kids.

I'm sorry. And I think the person who wrote about planting a tree gave an excellent idea and it can be planted somewhere to gather the family each year maybe with a lil picnic in memory of or add something nearby it each year such as a bench, rocks, bricks, flowers etc.

Ask them how they would like to remember him, and which traditions you could develop for your family. It may be more important to involve them in discussion about it, than actually doing something. It is a wonderful question, though. I think they may welcome the opportunity to also contribute ideas as part of the family.

My Best Wishes for the 16th of July. May it be a very special day, even though you will be sad.

You can do a power point presentation that shows pictures of him like a dedication to him or just make a scrap book with his pictures showing the kids how special their daddy was to them .
