You use softwares like AutoCAD, Maya, etc to do CAD(Computer Aided Designing). There are many types like CAD, CAM(computer aided Modeling). They vary in range from designing buildings, automobiles, etc to creating 3D models of humans, animals etc(for animated 3D movies)

I think you mean .cad, it's an extension file for a program called
AutoCad 200(x) {0,5,6,7}
AutoCad is program that orients itself to help users create arcitectual models for in the real life.
