What did you think about the French coach taking off his metal and placing it on his left hand side pocket? Also did you notice he wasn't the only one that took off the 2nd place medal?

I didn't see the coach do it but I saw a player take off his medal. I understand they were extremely disappointed but I would have liked to see them all accept the silver graciously. However we have to take into consideration the amount of frustration and disappointment these men just faced. Winning a WC title is every footballers dream and they had to face the fact that their dream was not going to come true that day. I'm sure if they had the medal ceremonies a little bit later then I doubt you'd see people taking off their silver medals. They would have had time to allow their loss to sink in and regroup themselves.
im_no_cassanova is a complete moron and I'm getting tired of his bitterness (perhaps jealously) of the French. What a sad life he must lead if he has this much hatred in him.

Guys,
The world cup is not like the Olympics, where individulas or teams are happy with second or third - silver or bronze... They ONLY want to be Champions.

The fact that they took off their medal is not to piss anyone off or disrespect anyone, they are gutted, they are pissed off at themselves for not achieving their goal - this silver medal is a constant reminder that they failed - Thats all there is to it, thats why they take it off...

it was a little rude for them to do that, but maybe it was simply because they were still upset about losing to the italians that some of the players and even the coach decided to take off their medals because they were still upset about their loss.

Hello I am french and to be honest I dicover it with your question!

Maybe they were just disappointed by what happened with Zidane etc...
To answer to one the answers about French and disrespect, I encourage him to travel a bit before talking.
In my country we really accepted this loss. But maybe it was not the message in your medias?
