you found the money together, you turn it into the police together, you wait out the 3-4 months for someone to claim it, when it is left unclaimed , you and your friend split the money...
now then when you began this walk you were both broke, one of you looked over and there was a bag of money..."hey bud look what I found" so one of you is 100,000 dollars richer, because he was walking on the left. or your both 50,000 dollars richer cause you are friends?
Money is the root of all evil... neither one of you put out any money, in order to gain this money... Yes split the money... you're both 50,000 dollars richer, and thats a lot of money....
spend it wisely and turn it into 100,000!!!
you don't know for a fact your friend would not split the money, why ruin a good friendship thinking he may not... maybe you are the untrue friend for thinking your friend isn't...

Why not look at the real world instead of fantasies? How do you know if someone is a real friend? Do you have common interests? Do you enjoy being with each other? Is he reliable and treats you with honesty and respect? If you have a problem, will he help you if he can. Does he treat other people with consideration and respect? If he treats you well but not others,
he'll probably treat you the same way after awhile.

In this country..if you find a bag of money and don't turn it in, you could go to jail if someone finds out. Maybe a true friend would suggest turning it in and possibly getting a reward for your honesty.

A long time ago John Walker betrayed his country for cash. He'd get it delivered, as you suggest, in a bag placed in spots in the woods and other places. If I found a bag like that, knowing it was illegally gotten gain, I'd have no trouble keeping it. If my friend wanted it for themself, then I'd know they were no friend. Friends understand. Friends would share this blessing.
Of course, this never happens. Right? Just ask John Walker. He is in jail for the rest of his miserable betraying life.

It's a great idea but a naive question. Base your friendships on what's real, like how you're treated and how much trust is involved. True friendship is based on mutual trust and consideration, as well as a common philosophy of some kind.

I think you might have answered your own question. If you know that your friend would not split the money, then you already know that is not a true friend.

this has nothing to do with a bag of money, but look at it this way....a friend will come bail you out of jail, and a good friend will be sitting beside you saying "Damn that was fun"
