mhhhmmm....well you gotta ask yourself why is it that can't sleep.
i know stupid thing to say....but go along with me here...really ask yourself.
So let's say the answer is that because your grandpa is dying.
(okay yeah i know...."retardo get to your point"....just hold on and humor me)
Okay now think....is it HIM that doesn't want to die or YOU that doesn't want him to die. 'Cause if he is sleeping like a baby about the whole situation then hey....relax.....he's the one that should be more worried about dying since he will have nothing left to look forward to on earth anymore. So if your the one that is not sleeping then you gotta come to terms that the reason you can't sleep is because your gonna miss him....miss the old time...miss the new memories you could have made........miss everything about him. So just tell him about it. Confront it whenever you can just say it to him....cry it out...talk it out....just let it out however you wish but make sure he gets to know it and if both of you cannot sleep get both yourselves together and face it out however you can just remember talk to be included.....and if for some reason he cannot talk with u find someone to let it out,
Look i had a grandmother who got runover by a car, had hip surgery with complications more then three times, and some back surgery too, i believe........ shortly followed by lung surgery for lung cancer, and surgery for cancer in her stomach cavity and then her death..... i am not trying to compare your pain to mine all i am trying to show you is that after some experience with death and the little games that come with it you just always have to keep in mind who is more scared or sorry or hurt by events.
Because sometimes the main cause of pain when losing someone is due to one's self......when it should really be about the other person.
If i didn't help sry to have put you through all this when you have more important things to deal with
Hope you find something that works for you
Sending you wishes
And praying never hurts...... as long as you pray for the right reasons and things ( praying for help through tough times rather than miracles that defy the very rules that the person you pray to (aka God) created usually happen more often)
(we are all destined to becom the dust we were created from as the Bible claims)

Pray, then fall asleep thinking of all the great times you and your grandpa had together, and about how he'll get to be in a better place. God bless both of you.

I'm truly sorry for your predicament. I have sleeping problems myself. I'll have you know that most over the counter sleeping aids are BAD for u. Not only are most habit forming (and who needs another addiction), but also they have been proven to be bad for your kidney and cause strokes after much use. Melatonin (which can be bought at most any grocer) is a sleep aid that your body naturally produces from, yes... exposure to the sun (the sun in contact with skin creates this chemical in the body). Excercise early in the day or afternoon helps. Don't do anything exerting before you go to bed for this raises your heart rate making it harder to sleep. Milk, especially warm milk before bed is known to help induce sleep. One thing that works really well when I have something stuck on my mind is yoga breathing. Inhale for 4 long seconds and then pause holding your breath for 2. Exhale for 4 seconds and hold it for 2. Repeating this process not only gives your mind something to focus on but also pumps oxygen into your system making it easier on your heart thus in turn slowing your heart rate. Before you know it it is morning. Has always worked for me at least. Good luck and God bless u and your grandfather.

first of all I am so sorry to hear that. my condolences to you. but when i try to fall sleep i just drift away to 'la-la' land, i think about my day, what i accomplished and didn't accomplish, about my boo, about my broken leg.Lol but the key thing to remember is not to stress about the small things, in the end they will take care of themselves. think happy thoughts, like you g-pa will be in a better place, and in no more pain. I'm sure you have already heard that but i just wanted to mention it again BC maybe that's all you need is just some comforting words. i can also sympathize with you. i totally understand. <3 i hope i helped a little.

Write your thoughts down to get them out of your head.
By not writing they'll still be swarming around in your head. When you put them down on paper its like figuring out a math problem. The paper is you working out the problem.
