I really need a way to stop this. Don't just tell me to tell my parents, I have before, don't just act like I'm a 2 year old, because I'm not. I'm 12, and I've had these awful dreams for as long as I can remember. I made a topic like this once, but I never got any helpful answers, so is anyone here now? I have dreams that... they're killing me! I don't know what to do with myself anymore! Since I was 5 years old, I've had these dreams. Usually it gets dark all of the sudden and I become aware that I'm dreaming. But the feeling I have inside, I know it's this dream again, and I scream out in my head for God to help me. Something, I don't know what, stabs into my back, over and over again. It can last anywhere from a few seconds to a minute, but this pain, it's torture! I have prayed for this to somehow go away since I was 8. It never goes away. I pray while the dream is killing me, but it never goes away...

I know I posted this exact same question before. I just need to see if anyone else can tell me what's really going on.

2 nights ago, I layed in bed and prayed for hours after having the dream the previous night. I've prayed over and over again that it could stop forever, and every night before I go to bed I pray that God would protect my dreams. I'm a Christian. This is making me fall away from Christ. I am starting to doubt that God even exists. I want to scream because he's never there, he never saves me. I know you won't understand, but this pain is so bad I can't do anything. I can't move, and I'm just stuck there at my mind's own mercy. If I try to move, the pain gets worse, and I think "WHY CAN'T THIS HAPPEN TO YOU" to whatever is doing this to me, and it seems as if it's digging in harder. Last night, I started to get that dream. I started, but I fought it. I had to fight to wrench my eyes open and get back to my room, but this is only the second time this has ever happened....

Now I'm afraid to go to sleep at night and I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I know you guys told me to get professional help... I would, but I really want to see if it goes away by itself. I can't move and I can't talk. That's about all I can say. My mom just screamed at me to go to bed. It's 3 AM. Great.

PEOPLE! STOP IT! I don't want to hear the tell my parents thing and I don't want to hear the go to a psycologist thing! DON'T YOU EVEN READ WHAT I WRITE!

Ok I have more to say about you people. That guy who said "I need attention" shut up and get off here, quit using my question for worthless points. And the person who said these aren't my parents, you can just shut up too. You want to see my birth video? Didn't think so. Leave me alone. And lastly, the person who said "hy i can but i won't just wait for 9 months" or whatever, I have no clue what you're talking about, I don't want to, and once again, why even waste your time getting points that don't mean ANYTHING?
Ok, I'm done. Man, I like yelling at people!

Alright.. more replies to people who will never read this. Everyone tells me I act way older than a 12 year old, and every time I post something on here I get accused of being older than I really am. But I AM 12 and I don't want to be told I'm not. My profile may say I'm like 18 or 19, but who wants to ask their mom for their credit card to make it right when lying is easier!!! I do agree now that this is all in my head. Every once in a while, I get in these moods in sleeping where I can have a lucid dream I can continue for a while. I keep waking up, like I can't stay asleep, but I kept going back to sleep, and every time I could keep having this dream. But then, one time, I thought "Going to sleep over and over again might cause me to have that dream again." And sure enough, right after I said that, it started. Which was really weird. I hardly even care anymore.. I'm just starting to accept it as part of me and my cruddy life... It doesn't bother me much anymore.

You may have ASP (Awareness during Sleep Paralysis). It's a condition where you wake up before the paralysis your body has to keep you from injuring yourself during your dream state wears off. It will seem like your dreams seep into reality and you may not be able to move. Sometimes it may feel like something is pulling at your heart.

You may also have night terrors.

I have this condition. It lessened as I got older. You may want to ask for sleep therapy. Melatonin helps with your sleep patterns, but I do not know the effects on your body at 12, so please ask a doctor of qualified herbalist before using. It's also MUCH worse when I sleep on my back. Try sleeping on your side, this may help and certainly can't hurt. If you do, in fact, have the same condition I have... rest assured that it is not killing you. And freaking out during an episode will only make it work, try to relax and breath slowly until your body wakes itself up. And I find taking yoga has also been very helpful with my sleep patterns. I haven't had an episode now in almost a year (I am 31).

If your parents won't address your concerns request to see your doctor and see if he or she can help. Please be aware that not all medical professional will acknowledge these conditions. But it is very wise to seep medical advice and be willing to psychological advice is it is suggested (as a therapist may help).

Try also talking to your school nurse if your parents won't let you seek medical attention.

If you do, in fact, have the same condition I have... rest assured that it is not killing you. And freaking out during an episode will only make it work, try to relax and breath slowly until your body wakes itself up.

I know it's harder when you are still techinically a child and adults won't take you seriously. Try not to over-react and calmly voice your concerns to your parents or another reliable adult (like a counselor or a nurse). If you are mature with your presentation of your issue, you are more likely to be taken seriously.

Please be aware that I am NOT a doctor or a therapist or in any way licensed to give professional medical advice and you should definately speak to someone who is(and I know you said you don't want to hear this as an answer but it really is what you should do). I am only sharing my own personal experience.

Good luck to you.

Hmm. This is a tough one. I will say this. God isn't the one to fix this. You are. This is stressing you out to the point you are missing the reasons why its happening. The first thing you need to do is accept that it is part of your life for the time being. Second don't look for answers outside the problem. God is God. He gave you a brain and the sense to use it. Do it. Don't say I can't or don't know how. Search. Start inside yourself. Do you measure up to what those around you expect? Do those around you try to control you. Are you a sensitive person and one to feel the pain of others easily? I am and had nightmares as a child and a teen. I had a self-esteem issue because I was afraid to take my life into my own hands. It didn't get better until I did. It also took time. The answer is not a simple fix. You have to find out exactly who you are and be that person. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Take charge of your life a step at a time. Then do what you need to do to be at peace within yourself. God wants us to help ourselves and see him in all things, not use him as a crutch. Unfortunately as Christians we often forget that. Free Will is exactly that. FREE WILL. God is our Father not our warden. Before you sleep each night try doing something that makes you feel good. It will help.

Whoa...I am soooo sorry that you are suffering! I am no psychologist or anything but I do know that some people have dreams that they are dying or falling and they do actually die in their sleep. Have you heard that? If your falling from a building in your sleep if you don't wake up before you hit you'll die...anyway to me from what you are saying it is the exact same thing, but you don't ever die because you are praying, in a way God is helping you, he is protecting you from this evil that is trying to kill you in your sleep. I know it sounds crazy, but it's so true. I think you need to go talk to your Bishop or religious leader, if your parents won't help you look to another source. You might have a witchcraft upon you or some evil that is trying to harm you...whatever you do, don't stop praying until you get this all resolved, it sounds like God is protecting you, even though you don't see it. You really do though need to venture out and seek some other help, I can't really help you other than that. Sorry you have to suffer pain at such a young age, hope all is well with you soon. I'll pray for you...

I used to have the same recurring dream, about being in a
haunted house. And there were secret room. And I wasn't
supposed to go into them. Like there would be something
horrible inside. I used to have another recurring dream. This
happend for years. And I just couldn't figure out what that
certain dream was trying to tell me ? But I want to say this
before I forget..use a pair of headphones while sleeping and
make sure the music is relaxing and something that makes
you feel good. There are music CD's with birds and the
ocean with gentle music in the background. That is so
relaxing...And your subconcious will absorb it. You will sleep
peacefully. It really worked for me. I have never had those
dreams again. Plus, I would write in a journal that I wanted
those dreams GONE! It took some time, but I don't even
have bad dreams anymore. You need to express your
feelings, and get out all that bs that's buggin u. And I DO
believe in asking God to help you by taking those dreams
away...it's ok to get mad, and say it out loud to God, look I
want you to take away these stupid dreams because......He
understands. Stress can make you have bad dreams, and
you may not even realize your under stress.... But take my
advise about the headphones. It will train your brain.

Sweetheart, I know you and others may not like this since you're a Christian and I'm not, but I'm gonna offer a religious answer. I promise to only tell you things you can read yourself in the Bible, and not my own opinion, ok?
One of the elders in my church moved into a new house and they would see a shadow moving from one room to the other every night. He talked to the other elders and they said it was an evil spirit or a demon, not a ghost or a spirit of a dead person, but a real demon. They told him to leave a light on in his house all night, every night. It could be a nite-lite, a light in the closet, bathroom or anywhere. The reason is because evil spirits hate light and like the darkness. It doesn't even have to shine into your room, it will still work if you close your bedroom door.
The elders also told him to put open Bibles in every room of the house showing God's name ( Jehovah ) like at Psalm 83:18 or Proverbs 55:22.
If your Bible doesn't have God's name in it, find one that does.
When he did that, they never saw the shadow ever again.
Some spirits do awful things to people, like the one that's "killing" you in your sleep. Hopefully, these suggestions will help it to stop happening to you..
Also, a girl I know from church told me that once she felt as if something was on top of her and she couldn't move or talk but she somehow got enough strength to scream God's name and it went away instantly.
The Bible says that evil spirits tremble at just the mention of God's name.
Another tip : One of the 10 Commandments says in Exodus 20 that we shouldn't worship idols. That also means having them as personal items, like necklaces of crosses or on your walls & stuff, so if you have any in your room, try putting them some other place for a few nights, like in the garage.
Now, I know you're a Christian and it may seem like you're being unfaithful to Christ if you use God's name and not Jesus, but you're not offending Christ ~ He's God's son. How could he be offended if you say His Father's name? Plus, you seem to be at the end of your rope and I feel bad for you. So maybe this will help. I hope so, sweetie. Keep praying and don't lose faith, ok?
I will be praying for you tonight. I'm sorry if any of these suggestions offend you in any way. I am just trying to help.

Okay Alika there are possibly two things going on here in my reasonings.

#1) You have stated you are a Christian. Well one thing is for sure the devil does not want us Christians to remain faithful to Christ. So then he'll send attacks on us. Now do you belong to a local church? If so I would definitely talk with my pastor about these occurrences.

It sounds like somewhere during your young life, or within your family structure someone has dealt with the satanic/occult realm. This in turn has opened a door for these attacks. That's why it's important to have those things renounced, and you given instruction through your pastor on how to do this.

Trust me telling your pastor this will not be out of the ordinary for him/her. The pastor will know exactly what to do.

Then there's...

#2) You are actually not a twelve year old child. You're a young adult hiding behind this description to get some honest answers. If you are indeed twelve I apologize for the accusation. Your indepth descriptions, typewritten postings and mature textural content gives me impression that your well past twelve years old.

Anyway my suggestion would be talk to a pastor whether you are twelve or not.

Peace Out.

I believe you do have reoccurring dreams, I have and they can be quite terrifying. You said that you think of the dream and have it. Why not try to say to yourself,I will not have this dream You must have a very strong mind to control your dreams. Stop worrying , I think they will eventually go away for the most part. You may want to read some psychological texts on dream interpretation. You may get a clue about why you're having the dreams. Good luck, and I hope you get a good night's rest soon.

Honey, there's only one name in all the earth that can make these attacks on you stop: Jesus.

I speak from experience; I too have been troubled in my sleep.

You can command these attacks to stop in Jesus' name, with authority. You can say, with authority, like a general in the army, "I command you, in Jesus' name, to leave me alone!" It doesn't matter that you're only 12 years old, Jesus' name is SO powerful that all of creation, even those things that torture you in your sleep, must obey.

If you get the thought in your head that this won't work or that Jesus won't help you, that is evidence that He WILL help you, because these things that are bothering you want to KEEP bothering you. Push that thought out of your mind and trust in Jesus that He WILL protect you.

Go to school and find a Christian -- not a Mormon, not a Jehovah's Witness, not a 7th Day Adventist, but a Christian, and ask them to help you get saved.

The only thing I can think of why such an attack would come to you in this way is that someone close to you is messing with the occult, or maybe belongs to a cult. You need to keep that sort of thing as far away from you as possible.

I will be praying for you on this end.

Trust me and call on Jesus; He's the only one who can help you.

Love, your friend,

Rebecca

It is possible you are reliving a past life experience over and over. I have heard of things carrying over from past lives. You could also have premonitions of something that is going to happen to you in this life, but I doubt it. I had the same dream as you (fortunately only once when I was very young). I remember begging God in the dream to help me, and He did. Perhaps this recurring dream is testing your faith in God. It could be an evil spirit trying to make you turn your back on God. If that is the case, just keep praying and don't even fhink for one second that God does not love you. I really do believe if you keep your faith in God, that this will begin to fade away as the evil spirit loses interest in you. I know how scary dreams can be., and I also know evil spirits do exist whose main purpose is to turn people's hearts from God. Don't give in!! You sound like a very strong person to have gone through this torment, and I think your reaching out for help and answers proves your love for God. I will pray for you to be released from these dreams. I hope everyone who reads your question will also pray for you. Prayers really do help people.

I can't imagine how terrifying this must be for you. When my daughter was younger she had terrible night terrors similar to what you are describing. I told her to call me into her dreams so that I could protect her from the person that was killing her. It worked wonders. Is there someone in your life that you trust to protect you? Maybe you can do the same thing with them.

I believe that we control our dreams. I have stepped into many dreams that scared me and changed the direction or just cancelled them. Once you realize that you are dreaming consciously decide to dream about something else or while you are awake decide how the dream should end and memorize that ending.

These are all suggestions you can do to empower yourself against these terrors. I know you said you didn't want to involve your parents. If you need someone to talk to feel free to contact me......my yahoo id is country_nurse7. I hope this helps you sweetheart. Breaks my heart to think of you trembling at the thought of sleep
