Deacon Blue were brilliant, but Del Amitri are my favourite - they didn't do a bad song. There are so many good Scottish acts though - The Real McCoy, Eddi Reader, Wet Wet Wet, Love & Money, Danny Wilson, Belle & Sebastian, Texas, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds etc.

I'm Scottish and I'm afraid I hate most Scottish bands - Deacon Blue, Texas, Simple Minds, Runrig, Belle and Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand - I feel like a traitor, but they do zip for me. Although Billy MacKenzie, now he was great. You can't beat "Breakfast" for a great song

Deacon Blue are great, I saw them in 1989 in Aberdeen and they were brillliant, also The Blue Nile were very under-rated.

Try, Big Country or Runrig or Simple minds (ok not all of them are Scottish but Jim Kerr is and Mick MacNeil before he left the band)
