Based upon various reports from professional lip readers who have studied the tapes of the head butt, it appears he said something about him being a "dirty butt-******* muslim", and various comments about his "mother and sister being a whore". Plus there was a debated comment about him being a "dirty muslim terrorist". The terrorist comment has been supported by a few lip readers but denied by a few others. Additionally, the terrorist comment was denied by the italian, as he claimed "he didn't even know what it meant"...

Personally, if he said that crap to me and there were any racist remarks like that, I would have likely hit him too. I'd put up with the "your mama's a whore comment" but the religous comment and the terrorist thing, went too far.

Just a side note though, Zidane's mother had been hospitalized only hours before the game so this likely played a part in his reaction.

Now, I am German so I could care less who won, but there is more to this story than is being told... Zidane's actions were wrong but the italian guy should have kept his mouth shut too. If the muslim comment and/or the terrorist comment are true, then the Itlalian guy deserved exactly what he got. And if it was me, I would have likely kicked him in the nuts afterwards. However if these things weren't actually said, which I doubt, then Zidane is a disgrace.

That being said, there's no room anywhere for racist and ignorant comments like that and if they were made, actions should be taken against the italian player.

Why would YOU react like that..?
That cheating over rated f*ucking **** of an Italian (no generalisation intended but it is usually the case with them) said something terrible and insulting and probably just had enough brain power to string those few insulting words together. He has already said he does not know what "terrorist" means enough said...!
Personally I think Zidane should be given credit for what he did and I would have kicked the "bollockless" Italian fagg0t in the balls.
I hate it when you see someone react in sport and they are made the vilian and the person who spoke gets away scot free. I hope that with all the lip readers that claim they know what was said we will find out what was said and then we can string that f*ucking long legged **** up by his neck and hang the bastard for being a cheating ****.
Lets face it ... The only reason they ended up winning was because Zidane was sent off. I hope the Italian dies suddenly and burns in HELL.
Anyway I am off now for a beer and a pizza..
Sorry for the bad English, I am Chinese.....

Lip readers all over the world have been trying to figure it out. Last night the BBC said that the Italian player said: 'a horrible death to you and your family' (bearing in mind that Zidane has just found out that his mother is seriously ill...)
BBC don't announce things unless they are pretty sure... so it's probably right.

Dont know what was said, but we all know what Zidane did in response, which I suppose was physical assault in response to a verbal assault. Zidane has accepted his punishment for this incident, but what punishment will the Italian player get for his part?

All of the exact words are still yet to be revealed to the public. All Zidane has said so far was that Materazzi insulted his mother and sister.

whatever he said and I dont think we will ever know ( unless Materattzi needs the money and writes a book) it did not justify what ZZ did. Abuse of other players is a common part of football not that its right but for a professional player like ZZ to let down himself and his nation is a disgrace. Im English and I wonder how the english public would of reacted if Wayne Rooney had done that?

Some said that this butthead Italian player called Zizou a terrorist.
If someone said that about me or my religion, I will probably punch him on his face, not just on his chest. Poor Zidane.

Well done zidane! You don't go to work to get abused like that, even if its the WC Final. Materazzi over rated, he can take his pikey tattoos back to corrupt italy. I would have stuck one on him, glad ZZ got the golden ball
