Alice in Wonderland
"Curiouser and curioser!" Cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English). "Now I'm opening out like the largest telescope that ever was! Good-bye, feet!" (for when she looked down at their feet they seemed to be almost out of sight, they were getting so far off)."
The scene takes place after Alice follows the White Rabbit down into the rabbit hole. She is given two bottles to drink from. One makes her smaller, and the other makes her taller. After drinking the taller potion she exclaims "Curiouser and curioser!…" It turns out to be one of her favorite lines. It is so much more poetic than "Well, I'll be damned."
The adventures of Alice were a fairly tale told by a British mathematician Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson who used the pen name Lewis Carrol: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Wonderland
The book is humorous on two levels; it is considered a classic fairy tale while it pokes fun at a lot of some of Dodgson’s friends and at the British education system. This is what makes it a great book to quote from.
Another good quote is: “It is time to talk of many things, of sealing wax and kings.”

That's from Lewis Carroll's wonderful work, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." It's one of my favorite books and one of my favorite lines, whenever I run across something strange, I say to myself, "Curiouser and curiouser."

“Curiouser and curiouser!” Cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English). “Now I’m opening out like the largest telescope that ever was! Good-bye, feet!” (for when she looked down at her feet they seemed to be almost out of sight, they were getting so far off). “Oh, my poor little feet, I wonder who will put on your shoes and stockings for you now, dears? I’m sure I shan’t be able! I shall be a great deal too far off to trouble myself about you: you must manage the best way you can—but I must be kind to them,” thought Alice, “or perhaps they won’t walk the way I want to go! Let me see. I’ll give them a new pair of boots every Christmas.”
