I am studying to be a film director. Someday hoping to be infuenctial like Steven Steilberg and Peter Jackson. Does anyone care to mention the best colleges or universities in California?

I know that outside of California, The University of Miami, FL has an excellent film school which I have attended for 2 years now. They do a great job connecting you with the industry and have professors that really know their stuff. Just a thought, but if you live in Cali then your schooling would be way cheaper staying in-state.

UCLA. They have a program where you direct a short film, 15 to 30 minutes. If its chosen as good, it will be put on DVD and submitted to motion picture executives and expecially to the Directors Guild who Are on the look out for a director's assistant or second director.
