When my cousin went into the Army, we gave him a Leatherman Wave multi tool. He tells me he uses it on a regular basis, and always carries it with him.
I love my Super tool, and it's come in handy so many times for me. I'm sure he could find a use for it...or a fixed-blad KaBar or Kershaw knife.

well i,m going to the navy if my parents were to get me something it would by a silver coin. thats some thing to think about. if you are close to your brother than the coin would be all right.

you can but it is hard b/c they take everything away when you are training so i would give a gift to him after training
