I have a necklace that almost looks like the Star of David. Two perfect squares that make the shape of a star. Is this the Star of David or something else? How do I find out what it means. I don't want to wear anything that is offensive to anyone.

I really hope it's not a satanic symbol. I am going to stop wearing it untill I find out what it means.

The 8-Pointed Star or Octagram corresoponds to the Wheel of the Year and the 8 Sabbats of Wiccan and Pagan traditions. It is representative of the cycle of time and the power of regeneration and return. 8 is also the number of harvest, allowing you to reap the seeds you have sown in the past and gain from your projects and learning.

Try to look at this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_of_David

The best way to find out, would be uploading a picture for us to see it.

I believe that the Star of David is two triangles, not two squares. The Star of David was given to the Jews by the Nazis and usually had the word "Jude" written in it, which I believe means traitor. The Nazis used this symbol to identify Jews, and the Jews were usually shunned, and treated unfairly.

The Star of David means that to some people, to others it means nothing. If you live in Russia, I probably wouldn't reccommend you wear it. Either way the choice is yours.

http://paganwiccan.about.com/library/weekly/aastarpoints.htm has info about various types of star symbols, with pictures of the various types.

"This symbol is more often just called an 8 pointed star, rather than an octogram. 8 represents completeness and the regenerative cycle (also seen in the 8 Sabbats of the Pagan year.)"

http://altreligion.about.com/library/glossary/symbols/bloccultsymbols.htm has lots, lots more symbols, if you need to check out any other ones.

The star of David is consisted of two Deltas, thus two triangles one into the other, that correspond to the first and last letter of David s name. Two squares I have never heard of,or seen.

You describe the Star of David, a revered Jewish symbol--which gets commonly mistaken for the Pentagram (a satanic star symbol).
