There's no provision for punishing players who make racist comments on the field. So Zidane took the charge to punish Materazzi then and there. He did the right thing. Suppose, Zidane remained silent about the remark. In that case, FIFA wouldn't have given the matter that much importance. Now Zidane's act of reprisal will force FIFA to take some sort of action. Yes, Italian football is still full of dons and Mafiosi. Think of the match-fixing controvesy!

Either name would work but I really like Don Zidani. There were lot of jealousy against him and even the referee was against him. Sometimes in the game, the Italian committed serious foul against Zindane and the referee turn the other way.
