I haven't actually read it but I read the beginning. Some of the students in my class at school love it, I can see why, it was inspirational from the beginning. Sadly it has a tragic ending... read and you'll see... the story is a diary of a 15-year-old girl who unknowingly passes into the dark world of drugs and struggles to free herself. A must read for every teenager (and adults too), it shows the real side of teenage troubles and the dark realities. And yes, it is a real diary story, that's why the author's name is listed as 'anonymous'.

Yes, I read it in middle school. It has such a tragic ending and you only want to best for the girl. She has so many ups and downs. Just when you think she's going to improve, she hits rock bottom. I read somewhere that the Go Ask Alice book and other books written by anonymous authors aren't real, but I do think it makes the book that much more intriguing that it wasn't fabricated.

I read that book when I was 13, and I loved it. I've been wanting to reread it, now that I know more about the book's focus.
